This foundational course introduces educators to computer science thinking and basic computing concepts using accessible, everyday examples. Educators will learn simple problem-solving strategies, understand how computers work, and explore contemporary technology applications including artificial intelligence. This course builds confidence in CS concepts while establishing the foundation for effective K-12 instruction. This course aligns with Standards 1, 3, and 9 in Rule 505-3-.86 COMPUTER SCIENCE ENDORSEMENT PROGRAM.
This course provides a gentle introduction to programming using Python while integrating essential digital safety knowledge throughout. Educators will write simple programs, create classroom demonstrations, and master cybersecurity concepts necessary for responsible technology education. Using industry-standard tools in an accessible browser-based environment, teachers build confidence without installation barriers. This course aligns with Standards 2 and 6 in Rule 505-3-.86 COMPUTER SCIENCE ENDORSEMENT PROGRAM and completes the requirements for Computer Science Micro-Endorsement.
This course explores how the internet works, advanced digital citizenship concepts, and meaningful data analysis techniques. Building on GitHub Codespaces skills from Course 2, educators will add database capabilities with Supabase, deepen network understanding through practical examples, and create data visualizations. Includes hands-on experience with real-world data and live connections with technology professionals. This course aligns with Standards 4, 5, and 8 in Rule 505-3-.86 COMPUTER SCIENCE ENDORSEMENT PROGRAM.
This capstone course transforms computer science knowledge into effective K-12 instruction while completing full-stack development skills. Building on GitHub Codespaces and Supabase from previous courses, educators will add deployment with Vercel, design comprehensive CS units, create innovative assessments, and strengthen industry partnerships. Emphasis on practical classroom application with minimal technical barriers. This course aligns with Standards 7, 8, and 9 in Rule 505-3-.86 COMPUTER SCIENCE ENDORSEMENT PROGRAM and completes the full Computer Science Endorsement.
